The Department of Pharmacology at T.S. Misra Medical College & Hospital, Lucknow was established for undergraduate students in 2015 and for postgraduate students in 2023 with the inception of the institution to provide quality education in pharmacology and therapeutics The department is committed to teaching the principles of drug action, rational prescribing, and safe use of medicines to undergraduate students under the guidance of experienced. Over the years, the department has developed well-equipped laboratories and adopted modern teaching methods including audio-visual aids and computer-assisted learning. It also promotes research activities and rational drug use, contributing effectively to academic excellence and the overall development of competent healthcare professionals. The Department is led by Prof. Dr Rajeev Mishra, whose visionary leadership and academic expertise have significantly enhanced the quality of education and research. He actively fosters a culture of innovation, ethical practice, and evidence-based learning, guiding students and faculty towards excellence in pharmacological sciences.

Pharmacology
The department is situated on II floor of medical college building. The department has adequate rooms for teaching and non-teaching staffs; For teaching activities department has a demonstration room of 75 capacity with an overhead projector; A Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) lab with 25 Computers connected with Wi-Fi and a overhead projector; A Museum with Mannequins, Models and Charts; A Departmental library containing 111 Books and 4 Journals; A Research lab and An Animal holding area (Anima quarantine area, Procedure room, Anima cage holding area Entry service area, area for Rabbit/Guinea pig, Rat, Mice). Teaching materials including Computer Assisted Modules, Experimental Instruments, Catalogues, Specimens, Models, Charts & Posters are in adequate amount. Faculty and students of the department engage in research projects that contribute to advancements in safe and effective therapeutics, encouraging innovation and scientific inquiry with proper facilities.
